Sylvania Lighting has been awarded the Red Dot Design Award 2023 in the Lighting Design category for the innovative Concord Equinox LED downlight. The product's unique design redefines current standards for LED downlights without a central visible light source. The completely clear optical structure practically disappears into the installation environment. The halo effect created by Concord Equinox brings together innovation, flexibility and style, offering every space a very modern and stylish lighting. The Red Dot Design Award is one of the world's most sought-after design competitions, with more than 20,000 entries each year. This year's Red Dot jury consisted of 43 experts from 20 countries.

Concord Equinox - a new design benchmark
Concord Equinox has been developed using the latest optical technology. The product has an adjustable optical system that allows the light to radiate not only downwards but also upwards, creating a beautiful halo effect on the ceiling. This direct and indirect architectural lighting creates a unique atmosphere and increases the sense of space. Concord Equinox was developed in collaboration with QuarkStarTM, which provided the optical technology for this project. QuarkStar's light-refracting optical system allows for the first time the integration of an indirect component into the downlight without additional optics. The result is a stylish, discreet and impressive design. Equinox's UGR (Unified Glare Rating) is less than 19, which makes Equinox the highest quality rating in European indoor lighting standards.
